This is the Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy („Policy”) of Guesthouse Felho (we might refer to ourselves as „guesthouse”, „we”, „our” or „us”).  We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. 

An online reservation system is available at felhovendeghaz.hu, through which you can book accommodation at Guesthouse Felho.

Please be informed that the provision of certain personal data, as detailed below, is necessary for the booking to be successful.

In connection with the management of data, the data controller (Mária Dobi, individual contractor, regisered under 54 Tamasi Aron str., Budapest, H-1124) hereby informs you about the personal data it manages on the website, the principles and practices followed in the management of personal data, the organizational and technical measures taken to protect personal data, as well as the manner and possibilities of exercising the rights of the data subjects. I inform you that the recorded personal data is handled confidentially, in accordance with data protection legislation and international recommendations, in accordance with this statement.

By accepting our services, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Policy. For the purposes of Hungarian and EU data protection law („Data Protection Law”), we are the data controller of your information.

1. What information do we collect about you?

As guesthouse and apartment provider, we collect and process information about you so that we can manage your booking, deal with your booking enquiries, arrange and facilitate your stay with us, improve your experience when using our website and where relevant, deal with any issues that you may have (our „Services”). 

Information you give us 

Where you or someone acting on your behalf book and stay at one of our rooms or apartments, we may collect the following information from you: 

  • Your full name
  • Your address 
  • Your telephone number 
  • Your email addresses 
  • The number of adults and children that will be staying in the apartment or aparthotel room with you 
  • Any queries or special requests which are relevant to your booking 
  • Your marketing preferences 

In all circumstances at check-in, we need you to provide original copies of identification documents (i.e. passport or ID card) for verification checks purposes defined by the following applicable laws:

  • Act CLVI of 2016 on state functions pertaining to the development of tourism regions;
  • Gov. Decree 235 of 15 October 2019 on implementation of the act on the responsibilities of the state regarding development of tourism regions;
  • Gov. Decree 414 of 23 December 2015 on the rules for issuing identity cards and on the uniform recording of likenesses and signatures.

The documents you provide are subject of document scanning with the aid of a document reader, and be transmitted to a storage space, the Closed Guest Information Database (VIZA in Hungarian). You can find all details at https://vizainfo.hu/en/

In managing our website, we also collect technical information about users regardless of whether you make a reservation. This includes your electronic identifiers such as your IP address, as well as data on how you interact with our site. For more information see the section on Cookies below.

Special category information 

We will also collect information that you provide to us through a special request as part of your booking where you deem it relevant, for example which reveals or is likely to reveal your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, political views or data concerning your sexual orientation. 

2. How will we use your information?

  • administering your User Account with us;  
  • manage your booking and booking preferences and provide you with access to the room or apartment you have booked;

  • content from our Site is easy for you to read and understand on your devices; and 
  • we answer any questions you have and give you any information that you request. 

Information we collect about you from your use of our Services:

  • to run our Site and our services and to help us spot problems; 
  • to understand how people use our Site so we can improve them and provide a better more personalised journey;

To provide our Services, we work with the following carefully selected third parties. To do this, we may share your information with these third parties: 

  • FelhőMatrac Kft. registered under 3/17. 35 Damjanich str. Budapest, H-1071 providing online reservation opportunity via felhomatrac system
  • eZee Technosys Pvt. Ltd registered under D-113, International Trade Center, Majura Gate, Surat, Gujarat 395002, India providing online reservation opportunity via eZee Centrix system

We will also disclose your information to third parties: 

  • in the event that we sell or dispose of any part of our business or assets, in which case we will, to the extent necessary to ensure continuity of business operations, disclose your personal data to a purchaser of such business or assets subject to the terms of this Policy; 
  • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or to enforce or apply our terms of supply and other agreements with you; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the guesthouse, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and to prevent cybercrime. 

4. How long do we keep personal information for?

  • We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. With the exception of Cookies (see relevant sections of this policy), we have deemed this period to be 8 years from the date of your last stay with us, or such longer period as necessary for any investigations or claims that arise. After this period, it will be deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

5. Cookies and other technologies

Our Site uses cookies and/or other similar technologies such as device-IDs, in-App codes, pixel tags and web beacons to collect and store certain information. 6. How do we protect your information?

All information you provide to us is stored either on our secure servers or on third party servers. All customer data is held within secure data centres using industry standard protection and encrypted where applicable. All data access is segmented by role and user rights. 

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. 

Our Site may, from time to time, contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of such sites.

You have the right under certain circumstances:  

  • to be provided with a copy of any personal data we have about you (for example, your name and address); 
  • to request the correction or erasure of incorrect personal data held by us; 
  • to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data (e.g. while we verify or investigate your concerns with this information);

  • to request that your provided personal data be moved to a third party.

If we are processing your personal data because you have given us permission, you have the right to withdraw that consent without detriment at any time by emailing us at the email in the ‘contact us’ section 10 below.

8. Where we store your information

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Hungary or European Economic Area („EEA”) that may not be subject to equivalent Data Protection Law.  

Where your information is transferred outside the EEA, we will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as relying on a recognised legal adequacy mechanism, and that it is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.
